Days away from arguably the most important presidential election of our lifetime, the excitement and anticipation is felt not only in our communities but now extends to the sports world. On Election Day as Kevin Garnett and Tracy McGrady go head-to-head on the basketball court, their adidas footwear will celebrate this historic day and encourage fans to make their voice heard by voting. In conjunction with the new NBA rule allowing footwear modifications for special days during the season, adidas personalized shoes to honor KG and T-Mac’s passion for this election. “Embrace Change, Vote ‘08” will be inscribed on Garnett’s TS Commander while “Change is Needed, Vote ‘08” will appear on McGrady’s TS Creators. The Election Shoes were made just for KG and T-Mac to wear and are designed to be a platform for both athletes to voice their concerns and emphasize the importance of voting. It is also a unique way for adidas to personalize performance products and have our athletes become more involved with the design process. Furthermore, it provides our players the opportunity to show fans another side and expose their personality and beliefs.
