Former NBA All-Star and current TNT analyst Charles Barkley pleaded guilty to drunk-driving charges in a Scottsdale, AZ court, and has been sentenced to five days in jail. On top of the jail time, Barkley has been fined over $2,000 and ordered to enter an alcohol awareness program. Under Arizona State law, Barkley’s vehicles will be installed with a breath alcohol ignition interlock device. He will begin serving his sentence on March 21. Barkley was arrested for drunk driving on Dec. 31st in Scottsdale, AZ. A police report showed that Barkley had a blood-alcohol content of .149, well over the legal limit of .08 in Arizona. In his first public comments since the incident, Barkley apologized for his behavior. "I think that a DUI is unacceptable," he said. "That can't happen and I've got to challenge other people, not just celebrities or jocks. You have to really think before getting behind the wheel after you've been drinking. "Getting a DUI is unacceptable in any way, shape or form. I owe an apology to my family, to TNT, to T-Mobile and to my NBA family. I embarrassed all of the above."
